NOTES: THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS RIGHT BEFORE YOU LIGHT! • Candles may be lit as early as a little over an hour before sunset but absolutely no later than sunset. • The custom is to light two candles (one candle can also be lit but married women light at least 2 candles). • Girls as young as 3 can light as well. • You should derive some kind of pleasure from the light so they should be lit in a room you will use over Shabbat.
